Below You will find a collection of wood types we use currently for top veneers and inlay woods. The veneers in our current stocks are of equal, selected quality as the pictured items - but by nature they will differ in colour and/or grain. Of course You are welcome to tell us Your special preferences (e.g. You want to have palisander with a lot of sapwood or maple that is as curly as possible) and we will see what we can do for You. Note: some materials are available only as inlays - see notes in the descriptions.
Basically You can combine virtually everything at Your discretion. However, this is sometimes kind of tricky: certain material combinations can have substantially odd effects on the overall appearance of some patterns.
Thus (after You have made Your decision on pattern and top veneer) we recommend to take a second look at the pictures presented on the individual subpage of the intarsia pattern (regardless if Your selected top veneer is pictured there or not) and to contact us then. We check then together Your wishlist and talk about it if necessary. This is a well-proven way to Your dream table.
Alternatively You tell us simply Your decision on pattern and top veneer, answer some questions about Your basic esthetic preferences (favorite inlay colors, desired contrast level etc.) and we will put together a deliberate suggestion which will normally come up to Your expectations.
You can believe us, we like this preparation and we know, it is useful to serve You well.
Note: the use of tropical woods is in marquetry and intarsia making unfortunately to a certain extent inevitable. So we pay maximal attention to use them economically (only the thinnest veneers available and definitely never massive tropical wood). Exotic species thus represent under 0.5% vol. of our material input. None of the species we use is listed in CITES II-III.
